The story

The first stone of Saint-Denis, 1144.

Elemi, bergamot and mandarin open like tart marmalade rather than fresh citrus. Iris and orchid turn the middle powdery and cool against cashmere wood. Vanilla, benzoin, ambergris and leather make the base heavy and slightly funereal. Gothic, and it means it.

How it wears
